Nov. 22nd IAA Members Meeting CANCELED – Update
CANCELED – At the November IAA Members Meeting on Tuesday, November 22nd, the artist Jose Angel Hernandez will demonstrate his unique 3D style of mixed media.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. Business meeting and announcements start at 7:00 pm, followed by the art demonstration. Visitors are welcome.
Location: Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Dr., Irving TX 75061
Note: Each month members should bring one of their recent artworks by 6:45 p.m. to participate in the “Artist of the Month” competition. The winning artist is awarded a prize and the artwork is displayed in the Gallery until the next monthly meeting.
As always all gatherings are better with food! Please bring a snack to share (optional).
About the Artist:
Dallas-based artist Jose Angel Hernandez is best known for his 3D Mixed Media Art. He is also known for his series of larger-than-life representational portrait paintings. His solo show during Irving Art Association’s Cinco de Mayo Artfest was designed to recognize Latino women that have achieved outstanding accomplishments and/or have impactfully enriched the lives of US Hispanic people at large.
Jose Angel Hernandez was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Northeast. Graduated from high school in 1974 and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1990. He is a self-taught artist who started painting in the year 2000. He has built an art career and collector base while alternating his residence, a couple of times, between Los Angeles, CA and Dallas, TX where he has settled in.
