Members, we want to display your art! Here are opportunities in addition to our regular Large Gallery schedule of group exhibits and competitions — such as the annual Photography Awards Show and the Winter Art Exhibit. Plus we hold exhibits at outside venues such as Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition at the Irving Arts Center and exhibits at the West Irving Library. These always FREE opptunities are at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts:
- Artist Spotlight: We have again rededicated the West wall near the main entrance in the large gallery for an ongoing members-only art exhibition on a monthly rotation. The wall has an area of 48″ X 84″ to fill.
- Artist of the Month: a free competition held at the monthly IAA member meetings on the 4th Tuesday evening. Awards include posting of the winning artwork for a month and gift certificates or other prizes.
- Solo Exhibits in the Small Gallery: One of the long-standing perks of being an IAA member is the chance at a solo exhibit of your art in the small gallery for a month. Or it can be you & your friends. So FREE EXHIBITION SPACE!
- 3-D Spotlight: If the glass cabinets or pedestals are not in use during a scheduled Large Gallery exhibit, you may request the space for a 3-D exhibit. Very limited space.
Artwork requirements: Work must not exceed 36″ X 36″ or weigh more than twenty pounds, and may not contain nudity. Any media. No other restrictions apply, and any number of pieces may be offered to fill the space. Wall art must be prepared for hanging, but please, no sawtooth hangers. Please print 4″ X 6″ index cards with title, artist, contact info., media, date, price, etc. – one for the back of the artwork and one for the plastic holder.
Contact the board at firstname.lastname@example.org for the chance to participate. These exhibits are coordinated with the large gallery schedule – same Strike/Hang Saturday and reception once a month.
