IAA 2022 Members Awards Show call for entries – Show Canceled

Update: 5/20/22. The Members Awards Show has been canceled due to not enough entries.

Welcome to the 67th anniversary of the Irving Art Association members annual competition. We’re accepting a wide range of 2D media. We have limited room for 3D art (except for wall hangings), so please check first with the curator before entering.

Exhibit Location:  the East Gallery (large gallery) at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts.

Registration fee: $25 (check or exact cash) for up to three artworks, payable at intake.

Intake day is Saturday, May 28, 1 – 4 pm.

Prospectus rules summary:

  • Must be an IAA member for the 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 dues year. If you haven’t paid your dues, click here. To check your dues status, check the membership directory.
  • All entries must be original and completed within the last three years, and must not have been entered in a former IAA Members Awards Show.
  • All types of subjects are accepted into the show. Any final decision regarding acceptance of a particular work will be at the discretion of the exhibit curator. Artwork must meet community standards (no frontal nudity).
  • Categories: Oil, Water Media; Mixed/Other Media; Printmaking; Drawing Media; Photography/Digital; 3D. Artwork must not be heavier than 20 lbs. 
  • Artwork must be wired ready for hanging. No sawtooth hangers. No glass except for pastels and charcoal. Framed artwork may use plexiglas. Unframed canvases may be submitted if gallery wrapped with no edge staples, and should be edge painted. Multi-panel art (Diptych, Triptych, etc.) is acceptable, but each piece must be entered separately.
  • Label the back of your artwork with name, title, media, and contact information
  • Competition will be juried for awards. All entries meeting requirements will be accepted into the show as long as there is space.
  • All sales must be arranged between the artist and buyer. A donation to IAA of 10% for work sold during the show is payable at the end of the show. The artist is liable for all taxes and commissions on these sales. Sold artworks cannot be removed until the end of the show.
