Genevieve Armstrong: How Close is Close Enough?

Master of Fine Arts in Art Thesis Exhibition, University of Dallas
March 29 – April 30, 2021 at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts
Sponsored by Irving Art Association.

This exhibition is presented in partial fulfillment for the Master of Fine Arts in Art degree at the University of Dallas, 2021. Genevieve Armstrong’s multidisciplinary work focuses on self- portraiture and explores the boundary between painting and sculpture.

After earning a BA in Sculpture from Brandeis University, Armstrong returned to Texas to complete her MA in Painting at the University of Dallas where she plans to complete her MFA in the Spring of 2021. She wants to use her education to build a practice that continuously challenges her culture’s status quo of toxic gender conformity and to become an educator who helps others find empowerment and growth through art and the creative process.
