Art Around Irving

Besides IAA’s exhibits and activities at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, other locations in Irving offer a feast of art exhibits and activities for your enjoyment and enrichment:

Irving Parks and Recreation Dept. (IPAR)

IPAR offers inexpensive classes on arts & crafts each season at seven recreation centers around Irving. Sponsor of yearly festival Irving Main Street Event. IPAR also maintains the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, home of the Irving Art Association.

The Haggerty Gallery, located in the Haggerty Arts Village, is the copper clad building at the corner of campus roads, Gorman Drive and Haggar Circle.

A sculpture garden, plus exhibits in the Main Gallery, Focus Gallery,  Dupree Theatre Lobby, and the Carpenter Lobby. IAA holds two shows there each year: Texas & Neighbors in the Main Gallery each spring, and Winners of the IAA Members Juried Show each summer. Plus workshops and activities for children.

Norman Rockwell and the Art of Scouting: For more than a century, the Boy Scouts have relied on illustrators to translate Scouting life into striking visual narratives. Featuring the work of Norman Rockwell, Joseph Christian Leyendecker, Walt Disney Studios, Howard Chandler Christy, Dean Cornwell, and Joseph Csatari, this new permanent installation takes a closer look at the artists behind America’s largest youth organization
