Drypoint is a traditional fine art printmaking technique. Basically, you scratch a design with something sharp into a smooth surface. This is the printing plate, and it could be a metal such as copper or zinc, or a piece of acetate, plexi, or even cardboard. You then coat the plate with ink (Akua – non-toxic ink), wipe the plate with newspaper so the ink remains only in the scratched groves, then print the plate.

Printmaker Junanne Peck will lead the session. She will supply the basic materials for a $5 supply fee (that includes some paper supplies– extra paper may be purchased.)

Bring an apron, paper towels, baby wipes and your design ideas. (drawings or photos to work from)
