The November 28th IAA Members Meeting will feature artist Sudeep Kumar, who will talk about urban sketching with a demo and a hands-on afterword. He will also share information about Urban Sketchers global community, the Dallas/Fort Worth local chapter and how someone can join these groups.
Doors open at 6:30 pm and the Meeting starts at 7:00 pm at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts in Irving. Guests are welcome. Directions.

Call for Art: IAA Winter Art Exhibit You may drop off your work early at the meeting. Regular drop off time is Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10am – 2pm. Up to three large pieces or five small ones on any theme. Don’t forgot your name, title of art, and contact information on the back. Exhibits runs Dec. 3 – Jan. 5, 2018.
About the Artist
Sudeep Kumar is a local area artist, living in Frisco, TX.
Art for him is like a meditation, a silent conversation with self. On one hand, his work is either capturing the energy/mood of a place or event and presenting it to the audience to have them connect to the subject more closely as if its an integral part of their life. On the other hand, its a portrait of human emotions underneath our daily struggle for survival or mundane day to day activities. In today’s world of technological advancement, he feels we as a species are losing touch with our surroundings, our environment, our fellow human beings. The real connection or intimacy is missing. That’s what he tries to present to the audience and have them take a step back from their busy life and explore their surroundings fully. He uses charcoal, ink pen, or watercolor to create this artwork and try to use minimum media/material to keep them simple without impacting the message they convey.
Since last more than a decade he has been painting, drawing, sketching, teaching, exhibiting, learning and inspiring the community. He is also a Faculty of Art of Living foundation, teaching meditation and breathing technique for overall well-being for all individuals.
