You are invited to the Reception for the 2014 Youth Art Exhibit on Sunday, October 12 at 2:00-4:00 pm at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan, Irving TX 75061.
Irving Art Association’s first annual Youth Art Exhibit contains over 150 pieces of artwork. Approximately 45 pieces were in response to the IAA’s call to young artists, plus youth artwork made at the Irving Main Street Event held on September 20th. This portion of the exhibit is displayed in the large gallery. Participants included individuals from Irving, Arlington, and Plano as well as pieces from the MacArthur High School in Irving, and The Oak Grove Montessori school in Carrollton. The youngest artist in this group was a 1 year old who did a wonderful kool-aide and yogurt painting (the original mixed media!)
In the small gallery we have approximately 110 pieces of artwork that traveled to us as part of the ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ Exhibit. These pieces are all from Irving youth. Many were created at the Irving Rec Centers and the Irving Middle and High Schools. The City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department along with the Sathya Sai International Organization invited youth to submit artwork that showcased their expressions of gratitude and which was displayed at Irving’s Main Street Event on September 19-20, 2014 .
