Irving Public Library, eight-time winner of the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read award, returns with its eleventh annual community read series September 15 though October 15. The selected novel is Into the Beautiful North by award-winning author Luís Alberto Urrea. Free books, fun events and author visits around the city tie into National Hispanic Heritage Month.

For IAA Members & Area Artists: September 25th – December 3rd. Big Read Exhibit at the West Irving Library, 4444 W. Rochelle, Irving TX 75062 (near Esters & Rochelle). 26 works are on display. September 25th – October 28th. IAA Youth and Big Read Exhibit (East Gallery). Limited to youth. Much of the art was created by students in the Irving Parks & Recreation Dept.’s after school programs.
Reception will be Sunday, Oct. 16th, 2-4pm at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan, Irving TX 75061. We will also have a Coloring Book Party with a Mexico theme to celebrate! All ages are welcome to participate. Refreshments & art supplies provided.
